It looks like we will be getting an Ultimate Edition of Cyberpunk 2077. This should include the base game, the Phantom Liberty expansion, and some extras.
An Ultimate Edition is probably more than just a rumor. If PEGI, Europe’s rating board, gave it a rating, then that should mean it is in the works. The news comes shortly after a big update launched by CD Projekt Red for both the main game and the expansion, which dramatically updated the first-person RPG features of both games. As of right now, there aren’t any new big updates planned, but that will likely change as we approach the holiday season. Why? Because it would present an amazing opportunity to reach new customers and generate more revenue.
Historically, CDPR is known for releasing ultimate or enhanced editions of their games. That was the case with almost every Witcher game.
When will Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition get a release?
The leak shows December 31, 2023, as the release date for Xbox Series X/S, so it is safe to assume that other platforms will receive the game on the same day. The rating also included notes for mature content, including violence, strong language, and sex.
Everything that we know about Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition so far
Does the ultimate edition make sense? Certainly. CD Projekt Red does not plan to release any future DLCs for Cyberpunk, so the Ultimate Edition seems like a great fit for players who haven’t had a chance to play the game yet. Now, they can get everything in a single package. Also, it seems like a great time for this release, as the game is in a much different state than it was during its original release. Now, everything has been improved, and it feels like a completely different game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
