An anthology series from Netflix lead the Nielsen rankings for the week of its new season premiere. It debuted in first place with 1.36 billion minutes of viewing time in the United States alone!

Black Mirror takes first place in Nielsen’s Overall and Original Shows ratings

Black Mirror displaced the last week’s winner Avatar: The Way of Water. The blockbuster hit dropped by 45 percent in viewing time but still managed to surpass the billion-minute mark, that score comes as a sum from both Disney+ and Max viewings. But it still was not enough for the second place. TV Show SWAT streams on Hulu, Netflix, and Paramount+ managed to clear 1.21 billion minutes of watch time. The fourth place is taken by Extraction 2 with 1.02 billion minutes.

Since Black Mirror topped the Overall ratings, it is clear that it sits on the throne of Original Series rating. The second place was taken by Netflix’s Manifest, a show that was brought back from the dead to have a proper ending – all thanks to the dedication of its fans. Never Have I Ever has the third place, and the fourth is taken by Ted Lasso who keeps getting strong numbers two weeks after the season ended. The top 5 final spot is taken by FUBAR.

How does the Nielsen’s rating work?

Nielsen’s streaming ratings cover only viewing on TV sets and do not count minutes watched on mobile devices and computers. It only measures U.S audiences.
